A purifying cleanser with fresh organic lemon peel oil, witch hazel and burdock that leaves the skin feeling soft, clean and fresh, without feeling stripped and dry.

Cleansing is Step 1 in the Miessence Skin Essentials daily regime for organically glowing skin. Certified Organic Aloe Barbadensis (aloe vera) Leaf Juice
Aloe vera has healing soothing, antibacterial and moisturizing properties. It is used to relieve burning, itching, minor cuts and first and second degree burns. Recent studies indicate that aloe vera has the ability to accelerate cell (basal keratinocyte) growth in the skin.

Yucca Schidigera Extract
The Yucca Schidigera plant is native only to the south-western deserts of North America. Traditionally Native American Indians used it for washing, shampooing, and for a myriad of different medicinal applications. Biochemical research has shown that natural saponins, like those found in Yucca, repair the damage to cell membranes of the skin and scalp that result in a loss of nutrients.
Certified Organic Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil
Sunflower oil is expressed from sunflower seeds. It has a very high level of linoleic acid, which demonstrates superior skin compatibility and increases the moisture content of the skin (skin hydration is proportional to the level of linoleic acid in the skin).
Sclerotium Rolfsii Gum
Sclerotium rolfsii gum is a natural gum sourced from bacteria that produces an instant gel base when combined with water. It is a polysaccharide produced through a fermentation process of sclerotium rolfsii on a glucose-based medium. Sclerotium Gum has natural skin smoothing as well as soothing properties. It is used primarily in the cosmetic industry, but can be safely ingested.
Citrus Aurantium Amara (bitter orange) Fruit Extract
Bitter orange has a very complex chemical makeup with many health enhancing effects. Great topical antioxidant that is loaded with Vitamin C.
Certified Organic Citrus Limonum (lemon) Essential Oil
The pure essential oil expressed from the peel of ripe lemons is astringent, antibacterial, antiseptic and cleansing. When applied to oily skin is can help reduce sebum production. Lemon oil can cause increased skin sensitivity to ultraviolet light if left on the skin. We only use citrus oils in our Miessence cleansers, because they are washed off the skin.
Certified Organic Mentha Piperita (peppermint) Essential Oil
Steam distilled from the fresh leaves of the herb. Peppermint is natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
Certified Organic Arctium Lappa (burdock) Extract
Burdock root has been used as a remedy against skin cancer in Chile, China, India, Canada and Russia. Its recognized as an excellent remedy for acne and eczema and restores the smoothness of the skin. Also acts as an astringent and purifier.
Certified Organic Echinacea Purpurea Flower Extract
Echinacea herb is used internally as a blood purifier. Externally, it helps speed the healing of skin conditions caused by acne, eczema and other problems. Firms, stimulates and tones the skin.
Certified Organic Urtica Dioica (nettle) Extract
Stinging Nettle leaf is said to increase micro-circulation of the skin and has astringent benefit. It stimulates metabolism and is used in the treatment of dark circles around the eyes.
Certified Organic Plantago Major (plaintain) Extract
Plantain leaf soothes and heals many skin conditions. It is toning, an astringent that contracts skin tissues and it reduces oil secretions of the skin.
Certified Organic Hamamelis Virginiana (witch hazel) Leaf Extract
Witch Hazel leaf extract soothes inflamed skin and acts as a protective agent. It is astringent, anti-free radical and anti-inflammatory.

    I ordered the purifying cleanser last week i absolutely love it. It came in in three days, i was so excited to try your products.I had a bad skin reaction to over counter products that i thought was natural and part organic. My skin is usually oily but due to the skin reaction which turned my face red, extremely dry, itching and flaking that was very painful for a week .The first day i tried your product my skin was still so dry and tight even after i cleanse it with the purifying cleanser. The next day the red on my face was gone ! i still had dry flaking skin .I continued using the purifying cleanser, within three days of using miessence my skin has cleared up.Today is day six and my face is glowing.

Usage Tips

  • How To

    Gently press the face with a warm, soft cloth to soften and prepare the skin for cleansing. Massage one or two pumps of cleanser into your face and neck. Remove with a damp cloth and plenty of water. If wearing make-up, a second cleanse is necessary. Use twice daily (am/pm) as described in the Skin Essentials 3 Step regime. Follow with Miessence Skin Conditioner (Step 2) and Miessence Moisturizer (Step 3).
