Quality and Safety Testing for Miessence Blue Green Algae
As there are concerns regarding the potential contamination of blue green algae with mycotoxins and harmful bacteria, the quality of our blue green algae is of utmost importance.
Every batch of our algae is tested for yeasts and moulds, as well as salmonella, staphylococcus aureus, coloforms, E. coli, microcystin, aflatoxin, anatoxin-a, cylindrospermopsin, pheophorbides, and saxatoxin.
Heavy metal testing is undertaken to ensure it is free from antimony, arsenic, bismuth, cadmium, copper, lead, mercury, molybdenum, silver and tin.
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are also tested for.
A full pesticide screen is undertaken, which detects the presence of organochlorides, organonitrogens, organophosphates, and n-methyl carbamates.
